This tool saved me lots of money. My teenager accidentally flushed a sponge down the toilet. It took me many many tries. I could not find my endoscope camera so I was searching blind. The grabber wasnt strong enough to hold onto the sponge by itself. My success was also due to me holding the spring "out" (adding tension?) So claw could not release and let sponge slip from grasp. It worked great. Sponge was maybe 4' into toilet. I had a dilemma. Toilet flushed, but much slower.
I could flush or plunge and hope sponge went down and hope it didnt get caught further down pipe, or I could I could hope to try and grab it, or call plumber to remove toilet to get it for me.
Luckily the tool did the job. Thank you!
